혼돈주(混沌酒)

혼돈주 혹은, 자중홍(自中紅)이라는 단어를 들어봤는가?
조선시대 즐겼다는 폭탄주의 이음동의어다.
예이츠가 ‘만족은 고독의 충동이다’라고 했던 것처럼 새로운 것에 대한 갈망은 예전이나 지금이나 같았나보다.
새로운 갈망이 술마저도 섞어 마시는 만족감으로 전이되었으니 ‘만족’에 대한 새로움에 대한 모든 도전은 인간의 원죄같은 것일지도 모를 일이다.
오늘의 새로움이 내일의 일상이나 매너리즘 그리고 구태가 되고 낡은 인습으로 쓸쓸히 사라지더라도 새로움을 추구하는 인간의 ‘만족’을 향한 충동은 멈추기 곤란할 것이다.
사람의 생각은 멈추면 쓰러지고마는 자전거처럼 끊임없이 충동이 일어날테니 말이다.

혼돈주를 마시지 않고도 정신혼돈하게 할만한 아름다움이 느껴져서 말이다.
